Day 26 of the 31 day challenge for January.

This study is inspired by my walk up the side of Mt Walsh. It was baking hot and humid so I only made it half way up the side of the mountain. It was far enough though to get what I was looking for … a glimpse through the trees to the valley below.

In this study I was wanting to explore the relationship between the warmer foreground tones with the cooler paler tones in the valley.

My goal is to try out new ideas and different compositions. Experiment, play and have fun. By painting daily of course it will improve my skills as well.

I will sell most of these sketches on Ebay for no reserve auctions. Some will be used as ideas for larger works, and some may become episodes of Learn To Paint TV.
