The coastline on the Mornington Penninsula between Sorrento and Portsea is an artist's dream. It is full of intimate views around every corner to hidden away bays.
Many artists over the years have painted iconic scenes in this beautiful part of the world just a couple of hours' drive from Melbourne.
Recently I had the good fortune to spend several days on the Mornington Penninsula gathering photo reference for future paintings. After walking more than I ever have over three days I ended up with 1,300 photos.
Enough to keep me busy for the next few years.
